Dr. Rosemary Gray, vice president of special services and equity, is the
Title IX Coordinator for McNeese State University. The Title IX Coordinator
monitors and evaluates campus efforts to meet requirements of the 1972
federal legislation which prohibits all forms of sex discrimination in
educational institutions that receive federal funding.

Beyond meeting the requirements for resolving sex discrimination and sexual
harassment issues, the Coordinator helps to create and maintain a University
campus community committed to positive values of equal opportunity and free
from all forms of harassment, discrimination, exploitation, or intimidation.

To meet these goals, the Title IX Coordinator:
* Advises the President, Provost, and Vice Presidents on cases concerning
faculty or staff charged with sexual harassment.
* Serves as the University¹s EEO Officer for the resolution and
investigation of sexual harassment or discrimination complaints against
faculty and staff with regard to the Diversity Awareness Policy.
* When appropriate, assists Student Judicial Affairs in the resolution and
investigation of sex discrimination and sexual harassment complaints against
students in accordance with the McNeese State University Student Handbook.
* When appropriate, initiates action, including an investigation, when the
University is on notice of facts that indicate the University needs to take
steps to ensure that the campus maintains a non-discriminatory environment.
* Works with the academic deans, administrators, faculty, staff and students
on matters related to gender discrimination.
