Beginning with summer registration, students will have an opportunity to
register for the university¹s new emergency notification service or to
update information in the FirstCall system.

This may slow down the registration process and we ask for your patience.

FirstCall will only be used to deliver urgent notices and specific
notifications. Students can submit up to three phone numbers and two e-mail
addresses to receive emergency messages and you can select to receive
messages using e-mail, telephone and text-messaging.

There is also a link to the FirstCall registration page on the McNeese home
page.

Other emergency communication tools include the Campus-Immediate e-mail
which sends a notice to employees and students within minutes, the McNeese
home page, local media and the student list serv which send updates and
non-emergency information in a digest format once per day as needed. Outdoor
speakers are being installed at the locations of the emergency call boxes,
and a system to send voice announcements to all of the digital phones on
campus is also being implemented.

Please direct questions about FirstCall to McNeese Police Chief Cinnamon
Salvador (csalvador at mcneese.edu) or Dean of Students Toby Osburn
(tosburn at mcneese.edu)
